Sorry for the lack of updates on the news section... the studio has been intensely booked since the start of the year, which has produced some great recordings, including 4 Past Midnight's latest album, Two Towns Apart, Huevo and the Giant, The Preventer's, Sonic Templars, Two Years In Russia, Failed At Sea, Two Years In Russia, BandVandal and The Sinking Feeling.

For continual updates of what's happening in the studio, check our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/45asiderecordings

I've also just added a couple of things to the "Audio Samples" section, including tracks from upcoming releases by Life On Standby and Two Towns Apart.

As usual, sorry for the lack of studio updates! We've had a couple of intensely booked months and are looking forward to a couple more.

The majority of last month was spent recording The Wakes' album, which is almost finished. LOTS of amazing chants in the folk punk tracks, which we love!

Swallows were also in recording a track, and Tim Courtney filmed the process. It's been put together an an exciting 2 minute "in the studio" video. Check it out.
Our friends at Postblogasf*** also gave us a wee compliment here: http://postblogas.com/2012/11/01/swallows-on-the-way-to-high-places/

Sonic Templars' music video, which was filmed at the studio by ShootBack Pro and starring Paul doing some cringey acting should be online in the next couple of days, I've been told.

TeenCanteen launched 2 tracks from their upcoming album "Cherry Pie" at the Poetry Club in Glasgow, IT was an exciting night with great performances and the girls' talent really shines through on both stage and record. "One More Night" from the CD can be heard on the Audio Samples page and TeenCanteen can be found at http://www.facebook.com/TeenCanteen

A couple of weeks ago, we had a new diffuser installed for the live room, which not only helps drums sound beautiful in the live room, but looks cool too! (see below)

Over the next few weeks I'll have the pleasure of working with Hunt / Gather, Huevo and the Giant, Failed At Sea, TeenCanteen, and The Sinking Feeling are back in to record their second EP at the studio, as are Life On Standby. I can't wait!

This thing's been giving us lovely clean tones all week. Amazing purchase.
...A quality, versatile guitar is also on its way to the studio for bands' use. Watch this space!

Hello, and apologies for the lack on recent updates. Another very busy month in the studio
....We had Strange October in recording their debut album live, which was intense, but greatly performed and I'm looking forward to them releasing the results. Some very catchy riffs and hooks, with the occasional solo outburst.

I spent this afternoon mixing Great Cop's EP "Faint Light", which they've just stuck online. It was recorded last month by Luigi Pasquini in the studio a little different to how I would have done things, so I was trying to stack the mix into "bigness" for a something close to my signature sound.
You can check out the EP on http://greatcop.bandcamp.com/album/faint-light

last week was a bit of a "girls week" with Anna Sweeny finishing off her debut majorly solo acoustic EP for release on Acre Records, TeenCanteen now 2/3 through their album for release on Neu Reekie, featuring Eugene Kelly of the Vaselines and Junebug's 5 days for their first 6 tracks, which will be released in September.

here are some snaps from the sessions. Most are band-taken!

...TeenCanteen's session above.

Strange October down instruments for a fag break:
oh, and Bruce Rintoul was in recording United Fruit over the weekend... everything's apparently sounding great.

I've had a busy week in the studio, working on the debut EPs for both Sonic Templars and The Sinking Feeling, as well as mixing Fiona Soe Paing's latest project, which has some of the coolest animation I've ever seen as a music video/fitting piece for each of the songs.

Oh, and Sonic Templar's just stuck up their EP cover, which I think is really cool.
Their EP lunch is on the 11th of August in Stereo. I'd highly recommend popping along.

Oh, and this isn't really news anymore, but if you haven't heard the Katy Perry cover that Vukovi recorded with Bruce at 45 a few weeks ago, get listening. It's pretty amazing.

We've prepared a video and live session package, where you can have a 10 hour day in the studio, record 2 tracks and have stunning videos of the performances. Tracks will be mixed and mastered to release quality.
Our introductory rate for this is just £350 and includes studio hire for the day, engineer, 2 cameramen and an additional day of editing.

Below is happy particles' session, which was filmed on this package. Drop us an email on 45asiderecordings@gmail.com with any queries.

Cheers!
Paul

We just found out about Liz Jones' new EP release that she recorded in the studio last month. It was a fun day of live recording, and the music was pretty much a recorded "jam" in the live room, which has come together perfectly.

TeenCanteen stuck out a video from their session in the studio last month for their debut EP "Cherry Pie", which will be released on Neu Reekie very shortly!

Just 5 days after being recorded, Bejamin Ellis' debut record has been released on ACRE Records. We've also had word that The Wakes re-release of "These Hands" will be out on Greentrax on the 1st of August. There will be plenty more news of other releases from the studio shortly, including Miss Lucid, Vukovi, TeenCanteen, The Senses, Atlas:Empire and katerwaul.
